RFP 17-18-33Porterville Tutors- OVCDC is seeking bids from qualified vendors to provide services assisting students with afterschool Academic Tutoring for a total of two (2) hours per week. Tutoring sessions are held at the OVCDC office located at 191 W. Poplar Avenue, Porterville, CA. 93257 from September 2017 to May 2018. Contractor will provide one to one and group tutoring assistance with eligible students in school subject areas: Math, English Language Arts, Science and Social Studies. OVCDC will provide curriculum and class supplies for students upon request of Contractor as well as classroom space and computers for students as needed. Contractor's hourly rate will include all costs for transportation to and from the service location. Prefer 1 year experience working with youth in academic setting and/or currently working towards degree in education field. Maintain high confidentiality. Tutor must assist in maintaining an inviting and safe learning environment. As well as make daily notes on student progress, concerns, successes and needed parental contact when applicable.
